LITTLE CURRENT–In the early hours of April 2, 2016, a UCCM Police officer observed some suspicious activity outside of a vehicle that was stopped at the swing bridge in Little Current. A traffic stop was conducted in the Town of Little Current and five occupants were located inside of the vehicle.

As a result, a 26-year-old Wikwemikong woman faces charges of impaired driving, refusal to provide breath samples, driving while under suspension and fail to comply with conditions. She was arrested and released on a promise to appear for the 25th of April 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay.

A quantity of liquor and beer was seized from inside the vehicle and a 27-year-old male, also from Wikwemikong, was arrested at the scene and charged with a Liquor Licence Act charge. The vehicle was also impounded for seven days under section 43.3 and 48.4 of The Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
