If you make the mistake, you should take responsibility and pay the piper’s tab
To the Expositor:
I am writing as a concerned citizen as this incident took place in my own back yard. A Garson, Ontario man brought his truck out on Lake Wolsey while fishing in early March, when his truck suddenly sank to the bottom of the lake due to thin ice. No charges were laid by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), yet this careless act of not knowing how thick the ice was places a hazard to our environment. At this time, there has been no sign of fluid leakage from the truck.
However, like any other law, when you make a mistake and create harm to something valuable you should take responsibility for your actions and suffer the consequences for doing so. It is my opinion that charges should be laid against this man who put our natural resources at risk of contamination in our freshwater lake.
