In loving memory of Gladys Hazzard, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, who died at the Lodge on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the age of 93 years. She was born at Silver Water, daughter of the late Wesley and Margaret (Stinson) Hazzard. Gladys was a waitress for many years in Toronto. She loved to walk, and would cover a lot of territory in her frequent walks around the city. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted person who lent a helping hand to anyone who was needy. Gladys is survived by a brother Charlie of Courtice and a sister May Sherratt of Sudbury and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Margaret Merrylees and brothers George, Ches, Darrell, Ernest and an infant sibling. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at Silver Lake Cemetery in the spring. If so desired, donations to the Diabetic Society or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
