DENNIS EDWARD (TED) TAYLOR November 7, 1936 – June 29, 2023 Ted Taylor, 86, passed away peacefully at Saint Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake after a courageous battle with cancer on June 29, 2023. Ted was born on November 7, 1936 in Mindemoya, Ontario to Dennis Taylor and Mildred (Pepper). Brother to Cryril (Goldine), Randy (predeceased), Alex and Dennise (Terry). Ted was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (2005) and wife Dorothy (2020). He is survived by his children Kathleen, Robert and Bradley (Michelle). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara (Richard), Dianna, Ashley, Dennis (Emery), Stephanie (Eric) and Jeffrey (Valerie); great-grandchildren Hannah, Sophie and Briggs. Ted worked for Rio Algom Limited in Elliot Lake for over 30 years and retired as Chief Power Engineer in 1996. After retiring to his hometown of Mindemoya, Ted kept active. He was the president of the historical society, a volunteer firefighter, a municipal councillor, and a warden at Saint Francis of Assisi Anglican Church. Ted was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and an active Shriner. The family wishes to thank all the staff of Saint Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake for the compassionate care he received in his final days. Visitation was at Island Funeral Home in Little Current on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 3 to 6:30 pm. Funeral was at Saint Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Mindemoya, Ontario on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11 am. Interment followed at Mindemoya Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Canadian Cancer Society.
