Decoration Day commemorated on Sunday, June 2

SPRING BAY—On Sunday, June 2, the public is invited to attend the annual Decoration Day ceremony starting at 1 pm at the Island Cenotaph at Monument Corner in Spring Bay.

Each year, Branch 177 Little Current and Branch 514 Western Manitoulin of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) alternate hosting this special day to pay homage to the men and women who served in our country’s force and those of our allies. Through their courage and sacrifice, these men and women have helped to ensure that we live in freedom and peace, while also fostering the same around the world.

Seating is limited and it is recommended you bring your own lawn chair. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, everyone is invited back to the Little Current Legion for fellowship and refreshments.

In case of rain, the Decoration Day service will take place in the Mindemoya Community Arena.
