Dan Recollet passed away peacefully at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on August 31, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Dan is survived by his loving wife Marina of 59 years. Loving father of Lloyd (wife Zaben), Ronnie (wife Lorraine), Patsy, Ted (wife Roxanne), Marcel (wife Hazel), Bruce (wife Sylvia), Ethel (husband Howard), and Terrence (wife Dawn). Dear grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late David Recollet and Lena Wagosh (both predeceased). Dear brother of his predeceased siblings, the late Agnes Beaudry (husband late Francis), late Winnie Trudeau (husband Jerome), late Billy, late Clayton (wife Pat), late Angus (wife Rita), late Ivan, late Lawrence (wife late Catherine). Special brother to Dwight Recollet (Harriet). Special father to Marilyn Kimewon. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends, especially the staff of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home. Dan worked in the forest industry for over 30 years in various positions for KVP, E.B. Eddy, Domtar. When Dan retired from camp life, he embraced the opportunity to work alongside with his wife and daughters Patsy and Ethel in the restaurant business. Dan also passed on his knowledge and experience in harvesting maple syrup onto his children and grandchildren. “Pa” was a very humourous man. He had many nicknames for his family and friends. “Blondie” will be missed by many. “ADIOS AMIGOS!” Rested at Holy Cross Mission Church, Wikwemikong, Ontario from Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11 am. Burial will take place at Wikwemikong Upper Cemetery.
