In November of 2019, the Greater Sudbury Police Integrated Crime Team (I.C.T.) working in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (O.C.E.B.) commenced multiple investigations intending to disrupt drug trafficking operations entering and operating within the City of Greater Sudbury.
Shortly after 6:00 a.m., on February 20th, 2020, Police from the Greater Sudbury Police I.C.T. and Tactical Unit along with the Ontario Provincial Police O.C.E.B. executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant at an address on the Kingsway in Greater Sudbury.
Quantities of Fentanyl and Cocaine worth a total value of $13,860 were seized in addition to $8,605 in Canadian currency, $153 in American currency and 10 Euros.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the following charges;
• a 38-year old male has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• A warrant being issued for a 33-year old female for two counts of Possession of the Purpose of Trafficking and one Count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• A 40-year old male arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Attend Court
• A 27-year old male and a 35-year old female were arrested but released at the scene without any charges at the conclusion of the search warrant
The individuals facing charges are not permitted to be named as the information for the charges have not been sworn to.
