Community Living residents enjoy last days of winter with Prov Bay sleigh ride

PROVIDENCE BAY—For several years, Sharon and Lyle Dewar of Providence Bay have been taking a group from Community Living Manitoulin (CLM) in Mindemoya on a sleigh ride around their property and a wicked storm did not deter the couple from doing the same thing this year. But this is not just a sleigh ride, this is an outing with food and music too.

“We love doing this,” said Mr. Dewar. “They are such precious people, so loving. When they speak, they speak the truth. They are loving people.”

The people from CLM think the same of the Dewars. “I enjoyed the music with Carol and everybody,” Phillip Roy said. “I liked the scenery around the buildings and barn and I liked the food,” he added, “and I thank Lyle and Sharon for inviting us and I would like to go again some time.”

Tyler Madahbee also liked going on the sleigh ride. “It was a little chilly,” he said, “but it was still good and the music and food were good too.”

After the ride, everyone headed into the barn for good food and music with Mr. Dewar, Carol and Jeff Gilmore and Wayne Smith.
