This week has brought much success to the MSS halls. Along with balancing their regular classes and schedules, students’ extracurriculars have been putting Manitoulin on the map. Let’s see what the Mustangs got up to this week!
The Mustangs’ gymnastics team has had an incredible week, bringing home impressive results from their competitions! A huge congratulations to Aspen Debassige, who delivered strong performances in all four events—bars, beam, floor, and vault—at the SSIDSAA gymnastics meet. Aspen will be representing Manitoulin at NOSSA on the bars!
The March 26 NOSSA qualifier also saw outstanding results from our talented gymnasts including several 2nd and 3rd place medals! Good work!
This Thursday, Headstrong, a mental wellness extracurricular, hosted another bracelet-making event. Students gathered in the cafeteria to join in on the fun and take a break from their usual schedules. As an extra bonus, all participants were entered into a draw for a $15 Amazon gift card!
The Manitoulin Metals robotics team had an incredible weekend at the McMaster University FIRST Robotics event, finishing in the second-ranked alliance overall and earning the prestigious Impact Award, the highest-ranked team-attribute award in the competition! Their outstanding performance has secured them a spot at provincials this Wednesday.
This success mirrors their impressive 2023 season when they won the same award at McMaster, later provincials, and went on to compete at the World Championships in Houston.
That is all for this week! Until next time, go, Mustangs, go!
