Happy Valentine’s Day, Mustangs!
The first week after Semester 1 exams has wrapped up, so students and staff are settling into their new classes. This is their final semester at MSS for graduates, which means an exciting lineup of events is around the corner, including graduation, prom, and more. It’s a bittersweet time, but there’s still plenty to look forward to!
On Friday, February 7, students showed off their school spirit by wearing their favourite jerseys for Jersey Day. It was great to see the halls filled with a variety of team colours and logos, especially with the Super Bowl last weekend!
Headstrong has two fantastic opportunities for students to relax and get creative! On Friday, February 7, they hosted a bracelet-making event at Three Fires common room during lunch. Students had the chance to take a break from their screens, make a unique bracelet and chat with friends.
Looking for another creative outlet? On March 19, during lunch, students can take part in a free watercolour painting workshop with Beam Paints. This event is limited to 15 students, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To attend, students must sign up in Guidance before February 28.
Headstrong reminds students that painting is an excellent way to reduce anxiety and stress. It engages the creative side of the brain and helps focus attention, making it a fantastic mental health booster.
Love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a musical? MSS is proud to present Mamma Mia!, a performance featuring the songs of ABBA.
Show dates and times: February 14 at 7 pm; February 15 at 2 pm matinee; February 21 at 7 pm; and February 22 at 2 pm matinee.
