LITTLE CURRENT—Less than one week after being released from the Sudbury jail following an assault and breach of probation charge, convicted Little Current arsonist Clinton Haggart is back in jail following another breach of his probation that brought him to Little Current during the Haweater Weekend festivities.

Mr. Haggart, age 34, was spotted in Little Current on Saturday, August 5 and police were quickly notified of his presence. Following Mr. Haggart’s conviction for the three charges of arson from the 2014 incidents, he was sentenced with time served, probation for two years, told to keep the peace and to be of good behaviour, to report to a probation officer, to have no contact with any of the witnesses on the court’s list, and to take counselling. Mr. Haggart is not allowed in Little Current as part of his sentencing conditions.

Staff Sergeant Kevin Webb told The Expositor that Mr. Haggart was found soon after police were called and arrested without incident. As of press time Monday, he was still in custody in Sudbury jail, where he was transported, and has been charged with breaching his conditions of probation (entering Little Current).
