KAGAWONG—The Christmas spirit was certainly alive and well in the community of Kagawong earlier this month. The annual Christmas in Kagawong celebrations were held.
On Friday evening there was a large gathering in attendance to enjoy the hearty tourtiere dinner downstairs at the Park Centre in Kagawong.
Upstairs about 25 booths were filled with vendors who had their wares on display throughout the weekend. There was everything you could think of, knitting, baking, art, crafts, puppets and much more.
Meanwhile, the Friends of the Library held a silent auction with over 60 items having been donated by local and area businesses and individuals to bid on, with the proceeds going to support the Billings Library.
In the main foyer of the Park Centre, Mike Coomes was selling golf balls with numbers on them to customers for the upcoming Running of the Balls event.
On Saturday a Christmas craft and bake sale was held at St. John’s Church, with over 20 baskets filled with items donated by local businesses and individuals being sold. As well, church members were serving cider to warm up visitors to the event.
A luncheon was hosted by the Old Mill Heritage Museum in the downstairs area of the Park Centre on Saturday, while a seed swap took place at the Billings Library Saturday afternoon.
