CHESTER RAYMOND BAILEY

November 2, 1920 – December 1, 2011

In loving memory of Chester Bailey, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge and formerly of Burpee-Mills Township, who died at the Lodge on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the age of 91 years. He was born in Burpee Township, son of the late David Norman and Annie Lavina (Robinson) Bailey. Ches had farmed most all his life as well as working part-time for 19 years with the Department of Highways. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors. Ches particularly enjoyed visiting with family and friends and most enjoyed his drives to town, often three times in a day. Chester was predeceased by his beloved wife Floris (Campbell) Bailey, (whom he married on July 17, 1946) in 1994. Loved brother of Blair and his wife Donna of Gore Bay and brother-in-law Ernie Campbell and his wife Marguerite. Predeceased by all his siblings and their spouses, Eileen and Tom Gibson, Lloyd and Stella Bailey, Blanche and Grant Campbell, Helen and Irvin Bell and Wray Bailey and in-laws Ardath and Bill Clark, Leila and Neil McDougall and John Lane, Dougal and Joan Campbell and Ross Campbell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives called at the Burpee-Mills Community Complex on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 10 am – 11 am. The funeral service was conducted at 11 am with Pastor Erwin Thompson officiating. Interment in Burpee Mills Cemetery.
