CHARLES NORMAN “CHUCKY” MANITOWABI

In loving memory of Charles Norman “Chucky” Manitowabi, AKA Chaalah Mendwabi, 72 years, who passed away on Monday, June 13th, 2011, at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current. Husband and best friend of Gloria Lorraine Shawande. Loving father of Darren Shawanda (wife Jackie), Alison Aguonie (husband Orville), and Robert “Rob” Manitowabi all of Sheguiandah. Cherished grandfather of Aaron, Nathan, Cassie, Bradley, Monica, and Ivy Jade. Dear son of the late John and Mary Louise (Trudeau) Manitowabi. Dear brother of Liza Mosher of Sudbury, Theresa Bisson, and Peter Manitowabi, both of Wikwemikong, and Edna Manitowabi-Dumont of Peterborough. Predeceased by siblings Margaret George, Victoria Mishibinijima, Albert, Daniel, and Alex. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Born in Wikwemikong he worked many years in the forestry industry. His pastimes included gardening, bingo, gambling, especially playing Texas Holdem Poker. What brought Charles the greatest joys were the times he was able to spend with his family. Charles’ lasting words to all would be to “love one another.” Rested at the Sheguiandah First Nation Community Centre. Funeral Mass was at St. Bernard’s Church, Little Current, Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11 am. Friends were welcomed after 1 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, Sudbury.
