Centennial Manor puts on a fine spread for its volunteers

LITTLE CURRENT—The dining hall of Manitoulin Centennial Manor long term care facility was packed to overflowing during an April 20 afternoon volunteer appreciation reception.

Manor chef Chris Lethbridge put on an amazing spread of finger foods and desserts to complement the wine on hand as residents and volunteers mixed and mingled.

Manor Activity Director and Coordinator Julie Omnet read a poem celebrating volunteers by way of thanks.

“Valuable is the work you do.

Outstanding is how you always come through.

Loyal, sincere and full of good cheer.

Untiring in your efforts throughout the year.

Notable are the contributions you make.

Trustworthy in every project you take.

Eager to reach your every goal.

Effective in the way you fulfill your role.

Ready with a smile like a shining star.

Special and wonderful—that’s what you are.”

Following the brief opening, music was provided by musician/therapist Jonathan Poenn on piano and cello.
