Centennial Manor Auxiliary News

Another summer has come to an end with the auxiliary being busy over the summer months with completing the renovation of the palliative care room and organizing the annual Canada Day yard and bake sale. The palliative care room was officially reopened on June 4. We would like to thank everyone who donated items and money or contributed their time to make this room as beautiful as it is.

Again this year, we had our annual Canada Day yard and bake sale. Over the past several years, this fundraising activity has grown to become a huge success for the auxiliary. We would like to thank everyone for their baking and yard sale donations and those who came out to support us by purchasing our wares on Canada Day.

This fall we were very busy decorating the inside and outside of the Manor for the Harvest Glory Days competition and Thanksgiving. We would like to thank everyone who donated items like flowers, pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks for our display outside.

Our next task over the next couple of months will be getting ready for Christmas by decorating the inside of the Manor for the holiday Christmas parties. Please feel free to drop into the Manor anytime and see our decorating skills. In addition, we will be purchasing Christmas gifts for all the residents and assisting with their Christmas party.

We would also like to thank the families who acknowledge the auxiliary as a charity at the time of their loved ones passing and those who donate to our memoriam fund in memory of their loved one. We would not be able to accomplish half of what we do without your ongoing support.

Our next meeting will be held on October 28 at the Manor. At this meeting we will be discussing other fundraising opportunities for the upcoming year. We are always looking for new ideas and new members who would like to volunteer their time by joining our auxiliary.
