Bruce Andrew Pope passed away peacefully at Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Little Current, with his family at his side. Survived by his best friend and loving wife Sandra (nee Viney), loving son B. Andrew Jr., daughter Katherine (Jordan Moore), and grandchildren Christian and Cadance. Will be missed by his brothers, Douglas (Maxine) of Chelmsford, Kevin (Patricia) of Mt. Albert, Kieron (Kelly) of Toronto, and sister Michelle Levesque of Owen Sound. He is survived by two aunts, Eleanor Batchelor (Stuart) and Louise Bell. His parents Douglas and Margaret Pope predeceased him. Missed by his sisters-in-law Shirley and Lyla Viney and brother-in-law George Viney. Bruce will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Bruce graduated from the Diploma Nursing Program at Cambrian College in 1979. His career took him to Sudbury, St. John’s, Nfld., Bloodvein River, MB., and then to Manitoulin. He provided outstanding care at Manitoulin Centennial Manor and Mnaamodzawin Health Services Inc., retiring in 2012. He enjoyed fishing, bow hunting and golf in his healthier days, and always enjoyed every sport on TV. He was a part of Lions Clubs and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He also was on the Board of Manitoulin Community Living. Visitation is on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 12 pm with Celebration Of Life at 2 pm, all at Island Funeral Home. Interment of ashes in Elmview Cemetery, Sheguiandah. In lieu of flowers, donations to Manitoulin Secondary School Student Bursary Fund or Manitoulin Centennial Manor Fund Raising (call bell) would be greatly appreciated.
