It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Kenneth Shillington, 73, on September 24, 2014 at the Vulcan Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Sudbury, Ontario to Ken and Jeannette Shillington he lived most of his life in Calgary until his retirement to Vulcan, Alberta in 2006. Brian leaves behind to cherish his memory Dianne (Hocken), his wife of 54 years, daughter Sandra Shillington-Vogan (Andrew), Gary Shillington (Connie) and Ken Shillington (Jennifer); grandchildren Matthew, Luke, Kate, Liam and Quinn; brother Norman (Linda); sister Lorraine. When not out at one of his numerous fishing spots, Brian could be found puttering in his garage indulging himself in his love of woodworking. It is Brian’s sense of humour that leaves a lasting impression with his endless jokes, his love to laugh until he cried and his developing gift of photo bombing. A special thank you to the Vulcan Health Community for their loving care and support. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by emailing bkshilly@gmail.com.
