Big Lake Community Association makes donation to Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary

MINDEMOYA—The Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary has received a substantial donation from the Big Lake Community Association (BLCA) that will benefit the Mindemoya Hospital.

Representatives of the BLCA presented a cheque in the amount of $1,000 to Judy MacKenzie of the hospital auxiliary recently.

It was explained the BLCA raised the funds for this donation through its silent auction held at a steak dinner the group held in August 2015. “We hold a silent auction at our steak dinner in August and ask local merchants to donate something—we get tremendous support,” said Linda Farquhar. The group has made a donation of $500 to the Manitoulin Centennial Manor.

“We will be designating this donation to buying something specific, from the wish list we receive from the hospital,” said Ms. MacKenzie.

Making the donation on behalf of the BLCA was Linda Farquhar, Lois Keller, Carol Middaugh, Jeannine Desmarais and Laurie Danville.
