1958 – 2024
Peacefully, at home, Beverly Jane McOuat passed away in her 65th year on January 31, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Helen and Colin McOuat. Bee was the cherished sister of Barbara (Neil), Ralph (Marie-France) and the late Brenda McOuat. Auntie Bee to Douglas, Jess, Adrienne (Mo), CJ (Tatiana) and Angelina, and was great-auntie Bee to Cameron, Caelen, Cole, Neil and Colin. Bee had deep and enduring friendships. She will be greatly missed by her devoted friends and colleagues. A charismatic entrepreneur, Beverley launched one of Toronto’s very first chip wagons, in tandem with her event catering company, PartyTime. She returned to Vankleek Hill to manage Farmers Supply Company/Home Hardware. She went on to create Netherdale, her bed and breakfast in East Hawkesbury, where she hosted many guests, friends and family. Bee was renowned for her lavish and delicious dinner parties and events. She supported and encouraged many local businesses and artists in the community and volunteered at the local hospital. Bee was a supporter of a number of different causes, including a children’s school in Madagascar. In a message to our family, the school wrote to say that Bee was a most kind-hearted person who wanted peace and happiness for all. Her generosity and love of life were her hallmarks. Bee was an adventurous traveller, her spiritual home was Manitoulin Island. She made many pilgrimages there, where she reconnected with family. Beverley’s friends and family feel her loss profoundly. She will always have a place in our hearts. A Celebration of her wonderful Life will be held at a later date.
