In loving memory of Barbara Harper, a resident of Evansville, who died at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. She was born in Sudbury, daughter of the late Russell and Eria (Kreko) O’Neil. In earlier years, Barb had worked at the bank, Cambrian Ford and a short while at the OPP station in Sudbury. She had a large variety of interests which included quilting, knitting, crocheting, was a wonderful seamstress, making wedding and bridesmaids dresses, enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and bowling. In the early 70s, Barb was the National 5 pin Bowling Champion. She will mostly be remembered as the “Worlds Best Mom”. She loved her family. When the kids were young, she has been known to knit mittens at night for the next day, because the ones they wore that day were wet! Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim on March 30, 2010. Loving and loved mother of Debbie (Mike) of Evansville, Sandra (Rocky Moors) of Naughton, Dennis (Sheila) of Whitefish and Dwight (Linda) of Calgary. Proud Gramma of Barret (Julie), Sabrina (Chris), Danni Lynn, T.J., Maeghan and Rikki Lee and Nana of great-grandchildren Sylena, Ashton, Lucas and Hayden. Dear sister of Ellen Leblanc and her husband Gerry of Evansville and sisters and brother-in-law Les and Lois Harper of Elliot Lake and Geraldine Robinson of Espanola. Predeceased by one brother Russell Jr. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25 from 12 noon – 1 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Barb’s life was conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Erwin Thompson officiating. Interment in Gordon Cemetery.
