Canadian author J.E. Barnard’s novel ‘When the Flood Falls’ features ex-RCMP Corporal Lacey McCrae. She moves to the foothills of Calgary and takes up carpentry. When an old university roommate is being haunted by someone skulking about in the night, Lacey steps in to help. This is a fast-paced and well-written mystery.

Linden MacIntyre’s book ‘Punishment’ is another terrific read from this award-winning author. The story is about a suspicious death and the struggle between those directly connected to it. This book has plenty of twists and turns, deceptions and treachery.

‘Our Canada, Our Country, Our Stories: Inspirational Tales From the Heart and Soul of this Great Land’ has been compiled by the editors and contributors of ‘Our Canada Magazine.’ It contains over one hundred stories about family, kindness, valour, memories, adventure, community and talent. These are heart-warming two- to three-page long tales— perfect for reading with your breakfast coffee or on a break at work—a true celebration of the art of storytelling.

He is one of Canada’s legends in the music industry—Gordon Lightfoot. His biography entitled ‘Lightfoot’ by writer Nicholas Jennings is the definitive book about this incredibly musical artist. It is a wonderful portrait of talented man who has spent his career entertaining and delighting us with his beautiful tunes and lyrical stories about Canada and life—he has a special magic.
