One of my favourite novels this year is ‘The Lightkeeper’s Daughters’ by Canadian author Jean E. Pendziwol. This is a beautifully told story of loss, love, loneliness, identity, loyalty and that’s all tied up in a remarkable mystery. The tale is set in Thunder Bay on Lake Superior. I couldn’t put it down!
Author Steve Burrows of Oshawa has chased his love for bird-watching across five continents. His series lead character, Inspector Dominic Jejeune is a French-Canadian policeman who lands a job as a detective in a small Norfolk town on the Saltmarsh in Britain. In the first novel of Burrow’s ‘Birder Murder Mystery’ series, entitled ‘A Siege of Bitterns,’ the intrepid inspector investigates a gory murder. He also is now living in some of Britain’s prime birding country and can satisfy his avid bird-watching hobby. There are currently five books in the series with another one due out in April. I can hardly wait!
Joel Salatin is known for his sharing of practices and philosophy for changing one’s life in small ways that will bring about big consequences. In his book, ‘Folks, This Ain’t Normal,’ he urges all of us to become more active within the food system. People across the full-spectrum—anyone who eats will definitely benefit from this book.

Man. The book is a font of information and an explanation of how Donald Trump got into the White House and what needs to be happen to make sure that no one like him ever becomes president again. This is actually a well-thought out future plan for America. Three highly acknowledged political thinkers providing a voice of reason and a vision of hope.
