Assiginack hosts open house for newly expanded library on Friday, July 8

MANITOWANING—Assiginack council is pleased to invite the public to an open house at the Assiginack Public Library from 11 am to 3 pm on Friday, July 8. The newly renovated and expanded library is absolutely beautiful and the Library Board is excited to show it to the public. At the same time the new location of the municipal office (156 Arthur Street) will also be open for the public to come in and meet staff and see the new council chambers.

The festivities of ribbon and cake cutting will take place at noon at the Library and everyone is encouraged to come by and have a piece of cake and a glass of lemonade! There will be a few short speeches by some Assiginack dignitaries and long time friends of the facility. Be sure to tour the library and ask the staff about all the new features it currently has such as two reading rooms for youth, a green screen and much more.

Patrons will be enchanted to follow a path along the sidewalk from the library to the municipal office by finding the fish or bookworms drawn by the young artists in town to take you to each of the locations.

Be sure to take a few steps further while at the municipal office and look down at the new amphitheatre on the waterfront for all to enjoy.
