May 2, 1919 – September 25, 2013

Arthur G. Pyette, a resident of Finlandia Village, passed away on September 25, 2013 at Finlandia Village in Sudbury in his 95th year. Arthur was born on Manitoulin Island on May 2, 1919. He was theson of Roy Pyette and Flora Turnbull. Art married Florence Skippen (predeceased) in 1938 in Sudbury. They lived throughout central and Northern Ontario before moving to Sudbury in 1961. Art was the electrical inspector for Ontario Hydro for over 30 years and then following his retirement served on the Sudbury Hydro Commission. He is survived by his four children: Jean Warner (husband Jim deceased) of Maple Ridge B.C., Colin (wife Barbara) of Sussex N.B., Ken (wife Kathryn) of Toronto, Ontario and Chris (wife Wendy) of Manitoulin Island, Ontario. He will be missed by his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and assorted nieces and nephews. Cherished brother of Irene McCulligh (deceased) and husband Lorne. Memorial Service was held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 1114 Auger Avenue, Sudbury on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10 am. Friends called at the church at 9 am on Monday. Burial of ashes to follow the service at Hilly Grove Cemetery on Manitoulin Island. In lieu of flowers, donations to Finlandia Village would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
