Archie Norbert Vermeersch Sr. passed away at the Kings County Hospital, Montegue, Prince Edward Island on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Blanche (nee Pressey) Vermeersch. Loving father of Pat Empey (husband Jack) of Aylmer, Ontario, Ed of Tillsonburg, Raymond (wife Linda) of Penetanguishene, Arlene of Corruna, Ontario and Archie Jr. (wife Donna) of Webbwood. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Robin Empey, Darryl Empey, Greg Vermeersch, Derrick Vermeersch, Amanda Adams, Shawn Ireson, Christan Mater, Alyssa Dionne-Vermeersch, Al Vermeersch, Jeff Vermeersch and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson, Bradley Vermeersch. Very dear brother of Isabelle Davis of Nova Scotia, Pauline Degryse of British Columbia and the late John, Ernie, Alphonse, Emil, Raymond and Ivo Vermeersch and Lizzy Suehsschlof. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Bourcier Funeral Home, Espanola on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 9 am – 10 am followed by a Memorial Service with Donna Vermeersch officiating. Interment of ashes in the Cold Springs Cemetery, Manitoulin Island. If so desired, Memorial tributes may be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation.
