Annual Stuff-a-Cruiser event this Thursday at Andy’s

WIKWEMIKONG—This Thursday, November 28, the student council of Wikwemikong High School is urging Islanders to open their hearts and their wallets for the annual ‘Stuff-a-Cruiser’ event.

The students are seeking donations of non-perishable food items, gifts and cash that will be ‘stuffed’ into awaiting Wikwemikong Tribal Police cruisers. Last year, the event raised $5,000 in donations, $800 of which was in cash, Wikwemikong High School teacher Ashley Recollet explained.

All of the proceeds go to the Wikwemikong Family Centre, which then distributes the donations to families in need, with an emphasis on teenagers.

“Everyone deserves to have a great Christmas!” the student council states in a communique.

The event takes place this Thursday, November 28 afternoon from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Andy’s parking lot and donations of non-perishable food items, Christmas gifts and cash are greatly appreciated.
