MELDRUM BAY—It is quickly becoming a very popular event on Manitoulin Island.

The third annual Meldrum Bay ATV ride took place this past Saturday in the community.

This year a total of 76 participants (62 bikes and 14 passengers) took part in the ride. This easily topped last year’s total of 52.

The ride has two trails participants can take, one being 40 miles in length and the second 25 miles.

After the ride, a chili-stew lunch was held at the Meldrum Bay Community Hall.

All proceeds raised by the annual event will go to the Dawson Citizens Improvement Association.
