NORTH BAY—The Anishinabek Nation is seeking names to be posted on the Indian Residential School Monument.
In 2013, the Anishinabek Nation unveiled the monument in North Bay to pay tribute to Anishinabek Nation First Nation citizens, living or deceased, who attended residential schools.
They are now looking for the names of individuals from the 39 Anishinabek First Nations including all the First Nation communities within the districts of Algoma, Manitoulin Island, and Sudbury.
If you wish to have an individual’s name honoured on this monument, the consent form is to be completed by the individual themselves or by an authorized family member on their behalf.
For more information, or to submit a name, call the Anishinabek Nation at 1-705-497-9127 or go online to www.anishinabek.ca/monument-unveiling/
