Crisis supports

Mnidoo Mnising Mental Wellness and Crisis Response Team offers 24/7 services for people in crisis on the Island: 705-348-1937. (The Mnidoo Mnising Mental Wellness and Crisis Response Team also offers periodic public check-ins where staff invite people who may be in crisis to drop by in person and talk with a response team member. The team posts details of these events on its Facebook group, which can be found by searching its name.)

Counselling

In an emergency, attend immediate medical assistance through Manitoulin Health Centre’s emergency department or call 9-1-1 for paramedic services.

People seeking access to needle exchanges, safe sharps disposal, naloxone and drug safety kits can access such services through a variety of providers, though not every service is available in every location. The below services are available during business hours on weekdays.

Naloxone is FREE from any pharmacy in Ontario with pharmacies located in M’Chigeeng, Mindemoya, Little Current, Manitowaning, Wiikwemkoong and Gore Bay.
