A poetic turn on a dentist’s dilemma

The daughter of a dentist weighs in with poetic licence

To the Expositor:

Maybe you can find a spot for this one regarding the ongoing saga of Dr. Bill (Studzienny).

‘The Windmills of Their Minds’ (may be sung to the tune of ‘Windmills of Your Mind’)

Who’d want anything but good will
‘Tween himself and a dentist’s drill?
An unsteady hand that’s shaking
When at last he starts to fill
(And your mouth is open, gaping)
Cavities against his will?
And the force of his emotion
Cause his instrument to slip,
And, don’t dismiss the notion,
Take a chunk out of your lip.
And the needle might just swerve,
Nip your trigeminal nerve.
Then a headache that leaves you blind
Blows the windmills of your mind.
