Rolling the dice to travel is not a viable option

Chi-Cheemaun-last-sailTo the Expositor:

Did anyone consider when Hydro One went into debt, still unexplained as to why so much, why they (Hydro One), supported by government, allowed the creation and collection of a “Debt retirement charge” we, taxpayers, still pay today? That debt, long since eliminated, was verified by the Auditor General! We still pay.

In contrast, our local area businesses community predict a huge loss to our local economy given the late startup of the Chi-Cheemaun and continuing uncertainty ie. will it sail, or won’t it sail, will it take a full load or won’t it. The public is not “rolling the dice” to travel on an uncertain transportation link to get to our Island. Local businesses are the people who hire our citizens and lubricate the wheels that go around on our Island, are they not allowed to be compensated, having suffered huge losses?

While we pay for huge fraudulent activity at both levels of government, what with Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallin, Ornge health episode, heating plant closures before they are started and on and on, when is enough, enough? Our jails are full of people who have done a lot less, not even close.

Do we have a job at election time? Worse than weeding a garden, if you can still afford to have a garden.

Bottom line? The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
