Gore Bay Manitoulin Lodge Auxiliary Inc. goes online

GORE BAY—With the evolution of online accessibility, the domain of giving to worthy causes is no exception. In order to keep pace with technology, the Gore Bay Manitoulin Lodge Auxiliary has developed a new website: ManitoulinAuxiliary.org.

The website explains the role of the Auxiliary as follows: “a non-profit registered charity since January 2002. The auxiliary is committed to supporting seniors on Western Manitoulin and is completely independent of Jarlette Health Services who privately own and operate Manitoulin Lodge.”

As such, the auxiliary enables the Angel Bus and the volunteer programme at Manitoulin Lodge to accept donations and issue tax-deductible receipts. All donations are put directly back into the operation of the Angel Bus on Western Manitoulin and the many resident programs at Manitoulin Lodge.

On the donation tab, three methods of donating are outlined: by cheque, e-transfer and by PayPal.

“We are very pleased to launch this website and encourage everyone to take the time to check it out,” an auxiliary release states. “You will learn about the operation of the Angel Bus—an essential wheelchair accessible transportation service provided free of charge to residents of Manitoulin Lodge and adult citizens of Western Manitoulin with mobility issues. And you will enjoy seeing the happy faces of our beloved residents enjoying many different activities, outings and celebrations to enhance their quality of life.”

“To quote Kahlil Gibran, ‘there are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.’ Whether you choose to give monetarily or of your time in coming into the Lodge and volunteering, we say a heartfelt thank you!” the release adds.
