LITTLE CURRENT – The project to build the first-ever Manitoulin Island Tim Hortons is proceeding and has not been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There have been a couple of other minor hold-ups but those have been corrected,” said property developer Jim McBane.
He told The Expositor that tenders had been sent out for the construction but as they were sent privately to selected construction groups he was unable to share a copy. He also declined to share any particulars about what the build project will entail.
As for a shovels-in-the-ground date, that was also indeterminate at the time because it will be impacted by factors such as negotiation with the selected bidder and the weather, though it is expected to begin this spring.
