Fish and game club to hold annual kids fishing derby

LAKE WOLSEY – Organizers of the very popular Kids Fishing Derby being held in just over two weeks are looking forward to hosting the event again this year.  

“We will be holding our annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 15.” said Ches Witty, a member of the Gore Bay Fish and Game Club. “The derby is taking place during the Family Day Weekend.”

“The derby is being held at the same location as always, at the area by the causeway on Lake Wolsey,” said Mr. Witty. 

The derby will take place from 12 noon to 3 pm. Entry is free and registration and registration starts at 11 am. 

“There are prizes for all the kids taking part; those up to 18 years of age are welcome,” said Mr. Witty. He added there will be hot dogs, donuts, water, coffee and tea for all those who participate. 

Prizes will be presented at the end of the derby.
