COURTNEY JOAN WEMIGWANS
PITCHIINS “ROBIN”
“COURTNEY CAKES”
April 8, 1993 – December 22, 2019
In Loving Memory of Courtney Joan Wemigwans Pitchiins “Robin” known as “Courtney Cakes”. Words cannot express our sadness, you are our sunshine, our light, our everything – our baby. You were smart, brave, happy. You left us too soon on Sunday December 22, 2019, at 26 years old. Beloved daughter of Evelyn and Wilfred Wemigwans. Dear sister of April (Giovanni) and Clint (Lorianne – predeceased). Dear auntie of little miss Vitalia, Brittany and Tyrell. Special auntie and godmother of Leah. Will be missed by godparents Margaret Ann Trudeau and Brian Kitchikake (predeceased). Also reunited with her grandparents Sarah and Dominic Pitawanakwat (both predeceased), Julia and William Wemigwans (both predeceased). Lovingly remembered by her many aunts and uncles: Pitawanakwat family – Lloyd (predeceased), Elizabeth (Hank), Alphonse, Marina (predeceased), Isaac (Dorothy) (both predeceased), Gilbert (Gloria), Theadore (Christine), Elaine (Ron), Victor (predeceased), Mildred, Beverly, Henry. Wemigwans/Lavallee family, Vincent (predeceased), Joseph (predeceased) (Ross), Thaddeus (Bonnie) (predeceased), Rose (Ron predeceased), Thomas (Elizabeth), Veronica (Wendy predeceased), Henry (Corrine). Courtney will be sadly missed by many many cousins and friends. She was a student a Seneca College, President of the Seneca Indigenous council, a student ambassador, a tutor, and a group leader. She always made time for people, especially if they were in need. She acknowledged everyone with her warm hugs, smiles, and a very contagious laugh. Throughout her life she suffered from arthritis, but in her own pain she always found light to carry on and she did. As she would say it “I’m a pro on crutches” – and that’s how she would show up no matter what. That’s who she was; always brought everyone together.” She will be sadly missed. Visitation was from 2 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at South Bay Centre. Funeral Mass was 11am Saturday, December 28 2019 at South Bay Church. Burial at Kaboni Cemetery.
