A Celebration of the Life of Theresa Bisson (Manitowabi), Auntie Terry, Waabonongo-Kwe Morning Star Woman, Bear Clan, 4th Degree Midewiwin Minaawey weygaan Midewiwin Lodge started her spirit journey in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the age of 85. Predeceased by parents John B. Manitowabi and Mary Louise (nee. Trudeau). Mother of Clarence (Debbie), Peak Sr., Debra, Mike (Evelyn), Alecouse, Mary Lou, John, Randy (predeceased), Brian (Cindy), Theresa-Lynn (predeceased), Chris and Patricia (predeceased). Nokomis, Chi Nokomis and Chi Chi Nokomis to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ellie will miss making pictures for you. Survived by siblings Peter (Bessie) Manitowabi and Edna Manitowabi. Predeceased by siblings Daniel Manitowabi, Albert Manitowabi, Margaret George, Alex Manitowabi, Victoria Mishibinijima, Liza Mosher and Charles Manitowabi. Remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Auntie Terry, a 4th Degree Midewiwin Nokomis loved Ceremony Life. As a Water Drum Carrier she loved to sing and listen to the drums. Her most treasured memories were of St. Charles and Murray Hill. She loved sitting by the lodges in the trees smoking and taking in this beautiful life. Auntie Terry walked with a gentle kindness. She was a very humble Grandmother that loved to laugh and play Skip-Bo. Miigwetch for the beautiful life you gave. Family and friends gathered at Rabbit Island Centre on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 starting at 4 pm. Traditional Funeral Service was Friday, January 3, 2020 at 9 am.
