Police charge woman with assault with weapon

UCCM Police were called to an altercation in M’Chigeeng during the afternoon hours of September 13. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after receiving the call and learned that a 26-year-old male from M’Chigeeng had sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of an assault and was transported to the Manitoulin Health Centre in Mindemoya for medical treatment. 

The incident allegedly started as a disagreement between two parties and escalated to an assault. The investigation led police to determine that a 29-year-old female from M’Chigeeng was responsible.  

UCCM Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old female with assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of recognizance.

The accused was arrested and held in custody pending bail set for September 16 in Gore Bay.
