UCCM Police were called to an altercation in M’Chigeeng during the afternoon hours of September 13. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after receiving the call and learned that a 26-year-old male from M’Chigeeng had sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of an assault and was transported to the Manitoulin Health Centre in Mindemoya for medical treatment.Â
The incident allegedly started as a disagreement between two parties and escalated to an assault. The investigation led police to determine that a 29-year-old female from M’Chigeeng was responsible. Â
UCCM Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old female with assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of recognizance.
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending bail set for September 16 in Gore Bay.
