MORLEY LANKTREE
April 24, 1946 to August 21, 2019
Morley Lanktree at the age of 73 passed away at his home in Tara Ontario with his wife of 53 years Elaine (Patterson) by his side. Morley spent his time between homes on Manitoulin Island and Tara and wintered in Florida. Morley was born on April 24, 1946 to the late Frank and Thelma (Lewis) Lanktree, and was the youngest of four brothers Lewis, Fredrick (deceased) and James. He is survived by his daughters Sandra (partner Brad), Sheila (spouse Jeff) and his three grandchildren, Ryan, Justin and Joshua. Morley was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and a good friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by everyone he loved and who called him a friend. Anyone who knew Morley knows he was happiest when he was traveling to or from somewhere, always wanting to see new places and meet new people who would soon become friends for life. His daughters always questioned if there was some gypsy in our heritage somewhere. Morley did not want a funeral or anything that made anyone think of sadness, he wanted to be remembered for his love of life and not have anything to spoil the memories everyone had of him. There will be a Celebration of Life for him on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Providence Bay Curling Club from 4 pm to 6 pm. This is a casual affair with food and laughs, and a time to share memories and jokes of Morley during his well lived and loved life. The family asks everyone to dress like it’s a party in his backyard and to please bring a written memory or picture of him as his daughters will be making a memory book and want to have all the stories of his lifetime to keep and pass on for generations.
