Happy Belated Birthday wishes go out to Doris Aziz (nee McDermid) of Brampton who turned 89 on July 26. She was born and raised in Providence Bay and keeps up to date on the goings on here with a subscription to one of our local papers. Her sister Shirley McKeddie (nee McDermid) turns 85 on August 5. Happy Birthday to you both.
A bear was spotted in the village late one night. Just a reminder to everyone to be bear wise. Make sure that you only put your garbage out when it’s ready for pick up each Wednesday, do not use bird feeders to feed the birds (there is enough natural food sources for them at this time of year). Do not feed your pets out doors and make sure that you keep your barbecues clean. We can all help to decrease bear encounters.
