Eyed-egg Brook Trout planted in Norton’s Creek

Manitoulin Streams volunteers clamber about Norton’s Creek placing incubation chambers containing fertilized brook trout eggs into the frigid fast-running water of the spring-fed watercourse. Once the chambers are placed on the streambed, bags of clean gravel are poured around the chambers to keep them in place and provide a secondary refuge for the exiting fry.
