AATWEN (TONY) JOSEPH ANTOINE TOULOUSE

June 2, 1934 – November 18, 2011

In loving memory of Aatwen (Tony) Joseph Antoine Toulouse who passed away peacefully at his home early Friday morning, November 18, 2011. Aatwen was born in Wikwemikong, son of the late John and Rosalie Bebamikawe Toulouse. He is survived by sister Evelyn and sister-in-law Stella. Dear brother of the late Joe Peter, Sarah, Jenie, Irene, Wilfred, Elizabeth, Henry, Lena and Victor. Tony will be missed by his nieces and nephews and many cousins. Aatwen worked in the orchards, picking fruit and pruning the fruit trees (cherries and apples) in Traverse City and Elk Rapids, Michigan. He enjoyed picking blueberries and cutting pulpwood during the winter months. He loved working on the farm, maintaining the family homestead. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in the sugar bush and gardening. Aatwen also would walk to church every Sunday. Rested at the Rabbit Island Centre after 12 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2011. The funeral mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Mission on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11 am with Fr. Doug McCarthy as celebrant. Interment in Upper Wikwemikong Cemetery.
