January 8, 1927 – October 29, 2012

Predeceased by parents Marguerite (Wagosh-Fox) and Moses Bebonang, husband John Xavier Francis Corbiere (predeceased December 6, 1988), siblings Samuel, Mike, Mary Louise, her two babies Vincent and Martha Jane, and grandson Calvin Lee (March 20, 2011). Annie was multi talented and had various interests. She worked hard all her life. Working along side her husband, peeling pulp by the cord, with her children close by. She was gentle by nature and showed it by her gentle combing and braiding of long hair. To make a little extra money she would hand hook rugs all winter to sell to tourists. Her rugs were beautiful woodland designs, deer, flowers, bears, etc. made with great precision and care. She also picked sweet grass, curing it to make into quill boxes, place mats, and mats. As her husband said, long pain staking work for little pay. To provide for her family she had a fruit cellar that she filled with carrots, potatoes, turnips and apples. She preserved wild strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, chokecherries and crab apples, which she also traded for salted fish. Annie also spent hours on her treadle sewing machine, remaking dresses to fit the girls. Religion was very important, she often told the family “when I go, I want to be buried as I have lived…” she honoured all the holidays and traditions, going early with the children, before they went to school to say prayers. She taught her children well, teaching love, gentleness, hard work, appreciation, and value.
