Maurice George Andrew Migwans

June 3, 1935 – October 26, 2012

In loving memory of Maurice Migwans, a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home, and formerly of M’Chigeeng, who passed away at the Nursing Home on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the age of 77 years. He was born in West Bay, son of the late David and Madeline (Debassige) Migwans. Maurice had worked as a lumberjack for KVP (E.B. Eddy) in his working years. He also liked to play bingo. Maurice drove taxi for a while, and because he liked to drive a little faster than most people, it was often referred to as “here comes the ambulance”! Maurice is survived by sisters Christine and Nora and brothers Ken and Francis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by sisters Agnes, Annie, Melvina, Pauline and Regina and brothers Raymond and Larry. Relatives and friends called at Saswaahns Spiritual Centre, 44 Tikmeg Road, M’Chigeeng after 2 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012. The funeral mass to celebrate Maurice’s life was held at Saswaahns Spiritual Centre on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11 am with Fr. Jim Kelly as celebrant. Interment in M’Chigeeng Cemetery.
