Empathy for those who suffered most from the outage
To the Expositor:
Hats off to the Eastlink crew and leadership who raced to restore phone and internet service last week with hard work and professionalism. They spared no effort or expense to bring in more men and equipment from off-Island.
It is satisfying that we can normally take Eastlink’s services for granted. When I was in my teens that was definitely not so. Until the original company that preceded Eastlink rebuilt all of its phone lines.
We feel for those who suffered most last week, for the truck driver who caused the outage, and for his employers.
