Eugene Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald

In loving memory of Eugene Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald, 64, a lifelong and proud resident of Sudbury, who died on October 11, 2012 at Health Sciences North, of cancer which he faced with a calm spirit and brave heart. Sandy leaves behind in sorrow his wife Susan (nee Beauchamp), their children Katherine (Karl), Joe (Melanie) and Dave (Amanda), his brother Joe of Axe Lake and sister Ann of New Zealand. He will be truly missed by his sisters and brothers–in-law, and relatives in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and England, and by his dear friends who journeyed through life with him. Sandy’s brother Greg predeceased him in 2010, his mother Kaye in 2007 and his father Butch in 1989. He was a retired teacher and principal with the Sudbury Catholic School Board. Sandy enjoyed his camp on Manitoulin, all sports, coaching kids, his travels to Europe, particularly to Portugal, and he had a special love of fishing. Rested at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends called from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday. Prayers were at 3 pm on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10 am. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to Right to Play Canada or Cancer Center would be appreciated.
