Police, fire and EMS respond to single vehicle snowmobile accident

SHEGUIANDAH—Officers from the Manitoulin OPP Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision on the snowmobile trail approximately three kilometres north of the intersection of Townline Road and the 20th Sideroad.

The OPP were assisted by the UCCM Police Service, who provided snowmobile transport to the site, as well as EMS and the Northeast Town fire department.

Upon investigation, a 46-year-old male was discovered with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The male had lost control and was ejected from his snowmobile after colliding with a tree.

The OPP wish to remind snowmobile operators to exercise caution while travelling at this time of year as conditions on Island trails can vary dramatically very quickly.
