The monthly euchre scores held on the last Tuesday of each month for February are as follows: First place won by Jim and Fred with 85 points. They also won for the most lone hands by getting eight of them. Second place winners were Janet and Anna with 75 points. Bill and Laura were right behind them in third place with 74 points. Fourth place winners were Marg C. And Marlaine with 68 points. The lowest scoring team of the night was Carol and Marilyn. Bid euchre was held at 1 pm on Monday, March 4. We’ll try to find out if this is a recurring event. 

The Dawson family attended a Foreigner concert in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday, March 4. We hope to hear all about their fun night out. 

Any students who are interested in working in our community for the 2019 summer season have until Friday March 8 at 4:30 pm to make an application. The Township of Central Manitoulin is looking for a Summer Fun Program Leader (college or university student preferred) and an assistant for an eight-week term. They are also looking for Interpretive Centre Hosts for a 10-week term (preference will be given to college or university students). There are also other positions available to students within the township. More information can be found on Central Manitoulin’s webpage under ‘Administration’ and then under ‘Employment.’ Alternatively, you can call the municipal office at 705-377-5726 and ask for Tina Davidson. The Annual Men’s Curling Bonspiel will be held this weekend, March 8-10. Come on down to the curling club to enjoy watching some excellent curling, cheer on your favourite rinks, enjoy some homemade food or have a drink in their licenced bar. 

It’s nice seeing he daylight hours getting longer and longer and now that the clocks will be springing ahead this Saturday night before you go to bed, we’ll have more daylight to enjoy in the evenings. 

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Janet Fathers who will celebrate on March 10. Happy Birthday wishes also go out to Connie Kiviaho who will celebrate on the 11th.

Irene Cornish will also be celebrating her birthday on March 11. Best wishes to her. We also wish her a speedy recovery from her recent injury. 

March Break will be starting on March 11. The Providence Bay arena will be open daily from 1-3 to accommodate the students who want to skate. For children that would enjoy some story time or an hour of crafts, the library will be hosting some. Call them at 705-377-5334 for times.
