It was disappointing to hear that Sheguiandah beat us out as this year’s winners of the Harvest Glory Days contest. We congratulate them on their win but recommend that they don’t become too complacent with their win because next year we will be back stronger than ever! We have so many dedicated volunteers that dress up our village making it look so nice that we feel like we are winners anyways. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Best wishes are going out to Blair Sullivan Jr for a speedy recovery from his recent health concerns.
The Halloween Dance was a great success with many wonderful costumes. The winner of the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions club costume event was “the monopoly man” and “Trumpkin.” A great time was had by all.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Riley Wright who celebrates on Halloween. Happy Anniversary wishes also go out to him and his wife Amanda who celebrate the same day.
Don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour this Saturday night as daylight savings time ends for this year. We’ll get an extra hour of daylight in the mornings but it will be getting darker earlier in the evenings. It’s also recommended that you check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at this time of year. Make sure the batteries are changed if they have to be.
Junior Curling Rocks at the Providence Bay Curling Club. They are looking for youth aged 4-17 years old. No experience required. The first day on the ice and registration is scheduled for Saturday, November 10 beginning at 10 am. It’s $20 to join for the season. Curlers will require clean shoes and a helmet (for new curlers). They provide the rest so come on out and get active and social.
A “Hee Haw” fundraiser is being held for the Elwood Sagle family at the Community of Christ Church on Saturday, November 10 beginning at 7 pm. Please join them for an evening of music and laughs. If you would like to participate in the evening or to donate, please contact Dawn Dawson at 705-377-5003. You can also donate to help out this family on their Go Fund Me page.
