Rainbow Ringers host annual horseshoe tournament

M’CHIGEENG—Players from many parts of Ontario converged on the Rainbow Ringers Horseshoe Club facility in M’Chigeeng this past Saturday for the annual Emerick Migwans Memorial horseshoe tournament.

“We have a total of 48 players in the tournament, with players from Sault Ste. Marie, Cape Croker, Wiikwemkoong, Wilber Force (Haliburton), Whitefish Lake and from other areas around Manitoulin,” said Ken Migwans, one of main organizers of the annual event.

At the end of the day-long tournament, trophies were presented to the overall winners. Taking first place overall was the team of Wade Debassige and Lee Taibossigai. In second place was the Cheyenne Migwans and John Tovey team while the Lew Lanktree and Taylor Debassige team finished in third place.

The Rainbow Ringers horse shoe club was established in 2007.
